Barley grass is the leaf part of the barley plant (a cereal) that is at the early stage of growth, at this point barley is closer to a vegetable than a grain in composition.

You can take barley grass by mixing 125ml of water or juice with 1-2 tsp of barley grass. Alternatively, added barely grass to smoothies, juice, water, rice milk, yogurt or any other foods.
If you are looking to maximise the alkalisation effect on your body it is recommended that you take it 20 minutes before or 2 hours after eating.
