Hand-made Matcha Whisk or Chasen.
This 100 prong Chasen is made from bamboo and designed to ensure that you get the most from your matcha.
Place your Matcha powder in a Chawan or tea bowl. Pour in around 70ml of 75C water. Whisk the matcha by writing a “W” in the bowl using the Chasen until the matcha has formed a frothy lather.

A little more about whisks...
Whisks in Japanese are measured in units called "Ben"(80ben;100ben,120ben....). The unit ben refers to the diameter of the Bamboo used for carving the whisk and it is classified as follows:
80 ben Diameter 2.3 to 2.5cm with 72 + stripes
100 ben Diameter 2.6 to 2.8cm with 80+ stripes
120 ben Diameter 2.9 to 3.2cm with 85+ stripes
The whisks are handmade and no two pieces of bamboo are the same and so prong quantity is only a guide. The number of outer prongs(Waishui) added to the inner prongs (Neishui) will be much larger than the number advised.
