EASY DOES IT

For an easy and quick matcha mix.  Simply add a spoon of matcha to a small bottle of water or juice.  Shake and drink.

ANTIOXIDANT FIX
Mix matcha with orange juice or other citrus fruit juice to max out your antioxidant fix.  Citric acid found in citrus fruit, such as oranges or lemons, can increase your body's ability to absorb antioxidants in matcha by as much as 13 fold.

DON’T BOIL OUT THE ANTIOXIDANTS
Pouring boiling liquid on your matcha will cause the leaves to start to oxidising. Putting Boiling water onto matcha will also bring out the tannins and increase the bitterness of the flavour.

To get the temperature right we suggest putting a little cold water in a cup and then pouring boiling water on top.  If you wait for your kettle to cool down it could take as long as 15 minutes!

STORE IT RIGHT
When matcha is exposed to heat, light and oxygen it rapidly oxidise.  This can be seen by the change in colour of the powder.  To keep your matcha at its freshest store it in the fridge or freezer.  We do.

MATCHA & DAIRY DON’T MIX

Casein found in dairy milk may reduce your body’s ability to absorb the polyphenol content of food and so stop you getting the full benefit.  If do want to mix matcha with milk and still max out on the benefits (Matcha lattes :p) then use soya or almond milk.

WARM UP YOUR WHISK
Try softening your whisk by dipping it in hot water for a few seconds before use.  This’ll make it easier for you to whisk up you matcha.
